Happy Independence Day!

Today is 73rd Independence Day; 15 August 1947 we became independent country. Today when we see back our Nation has been through really big ups and down, still we manage to shine bright in the whole world. Patriotism The term we’ve been using a lot these days. Patriotism is not feeling that comes for day and fade away. It’s something that stays there, right there in the most special corner of your heart. What really is patriotism? Well I believe it’s our pledge which we used to take in school. A pledge that we’ve might forgotten over the time, and I think it’s high time we read that again.

Patriotism is sentiment which we sometimes express through songs. In our diversified country we have numerous songs in numerous languages to express love for our county. Independence Day hold important not only for the people of India, But for Indian film industry also. Our country songs spread the message of love and humanity. It expresses our inexplicable love for our motherland. I have picked a few really good songs for you guys to listen on this auspicious day.

1. Maa Tujhe Salaam - Vande Mataram

Composed by music maestro A. R Rehman in 1997 this songs holds a special importance in in every Indian heart. This is song is gift given by this legend composer two decades ago which surely brings goose bump while listening to it.

2. Aye Watan Tere Liye - Karma

I still remember the lyrics of this song and Anoopam Khers Blur photo in this song. There is reason this song is stuck in our mind. It’s lyrics of the song that are so simple yet heart touching. Composed by legendary duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal and sung by Kavita Krsihnamurthy, Mohd. Aziz this song is on top list to listen.

3. Sandes Aate Hain - Border

This song holds a special importance because of its presentation of love soldier have for his country. How our veterans leave everything behind for the sake of their commitment for the Nation. Javed Akhtar lyrics Anu malik composition to go with Sonu Nigam & Roop Kumar Rathod voice is best patriotic song to listen.

4. Aisa Des Hai Mera - Veer Zara

This song is all about praising the beauty and showing the magnificent diversity of our country. Preity Zinta & Srk roaming around beautiful land of Punjab is a treat to watch. Song in sung by Lata mangeshkar, Udit Narayan, Gurudas Man & Pritha Majumder. Beautiful composition by the late Madan Moha & lyrics of Javed Akhtar. I mean what more we can ask for?

5. Roobaroo - Rang De Basanti

Aye saala abhi abhi, Hua yakeen ki aag hai mujhme kaahin, This lyrics take you straight to that radio station with Amir khan and other cast hugging each other. Rang De Basanti Movie itself is one feeling we have for Nation. Sung by A. R. rehman, Naresh Iyer & lyrics by Prason Joshi this song is Robaroo to all Indians.

6. Des Rangila - Fanaa

This 2012 song composed by duo Jatin Latit sung by Mahalaxmi Iyer is precise description of our Nation. Song has Kajol dancing on it gracefully. This song is surely engulf you with Pride & love.

7. Chak De India - Chak De India

Massive hit by Salim-Sulaiman Chak de India. Jaideep Sahni lyrics & Sukhwinder sing voice make song more than just a catchy number. This song is sure to play on this occasion. CHAK DE!

8. Ye Jo Des Hai Tera - Swades

Another hit by A. R Rehman, This song literally grows on you when you start listening to it. This Song represents magnetism we have for his motherland.

9. Mera Rang De Basanti Chola – The Legend of Bhagat Singh

This song take you back straight to days when you were in school and every Independence Day this songs play on TV. A beautiful composition by Rehman Sung by Sonu Nigam & Manmohan Waris Rang De Basanti Chola makes you think that how much in love of Nation our Freedom Fighter was.

10. Ae Watan – Raazi

Last but not the least Aye Watan touch every single Indian soul while listening to it. Magical voice of Arjith singh mesmerizes you in a moment. Composed by talented tri Shankar-Ehsaan - Loy Ae Watan is the best song to listen on this day.

We live for such a short period of time. We don’t ask who wrote and sang the song we just listen to it. There’s beauty in it, how Music unite all the people of different diversity, leaving behind cast, religion, Politics, race, gender all the things that should not separate us.
